Honor 20 to Sport Customized 48MP Sony IMX586 Sensor with RYYB Filter

Honor will be unveiling the all-new Honor 20 series on May 21st in London. The company is rumored to launch Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro smartphones. While the company hasn’t revealed any details, the leaks have revealed a few key details. Earlier this month, the press render of the Honor 20 Pro was leaked online. It shows the quad camera setup on the top rear of the smartphone. Now, the latest leaks reveal the camera details of the Honor 20 smartphone.

It will be coming with a triple camera setup on the rear featuring a customized 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor. While the Huawei P30 Pro came with the quad camera setup, the Huawei P30 offered triple camera setup. On the other hand, the Honor 20 Pro will use the 48MP Sony IMX600 sensor. While the customized 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor will come with RYYB filter, the Sony IMX600 is mentioned to come with the standard RGGB filter.

The Huawei P30 and P30 Pro smartphones came with a 40MP RYYB primary camera. During the launch, the company mentioned this new sensor with RYYB filter will intake 40% more light for capturing better photos in low-light conditions. The Honor View 20 launched in December 2018 is the world’s first smartphone to sport Sony IMX586 sensor. This same sensor can also be found in majority of the Chinese flagship smartphones.

Even the upcoming OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro will also offer the same Sony IMX586 sensor. Since the Honor 20 comes with Sony IMX586 RYYB sensor, it should perform better than the competitors, at least in the low-light conditions. Talking about the specifications, both the Honor 20 smartphones are expected to come with in-display fingerprint scanners. The devices will be coming with a curved glass back design and will be available in gradient color options.

Just like other Huawei and Honor flagship smartphones, the upcoming Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro will also come powered by the in-house 7nm Kirin 980 octa-core processor. The 3C listing revealed the devices to support 22.5W SuperCharge fast charging technology. Since the Honor View 20 came with a ToF 3D, we guess the company will also add it on both the upcoming smartphones. Take all these details with a pinch of salt and wait for the official launch event. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details about the upcoming smartphones!
