In the budget segment, the Indian smartphone manufacturers are facing stiff competition from the Chinese counterparts. While the Chinese manufacturers are offering superior hardware at very aggressive pricing, most of the Indian manufacturers are relying on their distribution system rather than offering better products. However, we have been lately seeing some ‘value for money’ products even from the local manufacturers like Intex, Micromax, and Lava.
Today Xolo, the subsidiary of Lava has launched three new entry-level smartphones called Xolo Era 3, Era 2V, & Era 3X in India. Much like other low-cost smartphones, the new Xolo smartphones also come with a polycarbonate shell. All the three smartphones come with a selfie flash accompanying the front-facing camera. The devices also support dual SIM dual standby and offer 4G VoLTE connectivity.
Xolo Era 3
The Era 3 comes with a 5-inch display on the front with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is the MediaTek quad-core processor coupled with Mali T720 GPU. It includes 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage along with a dedicated MicroSD card slot for storage expansion. The device runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and supports dual SIM dual standby. There is a 5MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and a 5MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture. It is backed by a 2,500mAh battery and measures 9.45mm thickness.
Xolo Era 2V
Just like the Era 3, the Era 2V also offers the same 5-inch HD display and 1.25GHz MediaTek quad-core processor. The Era 2V packs 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. Even the cameras on the Era 2V are now upgraded to 8MP sensors. It includes a bigger 3,000mAh battery which should easily give more than a day-long usage. It comes with dual SIM card slots and offers 4G VoLTE connectivity for using with Jio 4G SIM. The Era 2V also features a bunch of sensors including G-Sensor, Proximity Sensor, and Ambient Light Sensor.
Xolo Era 3X
At Rs. 7,499, the Era 3X is the costliest device among these three new Xolo smartphones. However, it packs the same HD display and quad-core processor as seen on the Era 3. There is 3GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. In the camera department, the Era 3X sports a 13MP camera with a f/2.2 aperture on the front and rear. Beneath the display are the three capacitive navigation buttons. On the right edge, we can spot the volume rocker and power button. As seen on the Era 2V, the Era 3X is also backed by a 3,000mAh battery.
All the three devices come in Black color and will be exclusively sold through Flipkart starting October 14th. The Xolo Era 3 priced at Rs. 4,999 is the most affordable device among the lot. On the other hand, the Era 2V and Era 3X are priced at Rs. 6,499 and Rs. 7,499 respectively. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
