Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi had a good year by launching several smartphones under budget to mid-range classes. The company had dominated the mid-range market again especially with their Redmi 6 series, according to Counterpoint research. Amongst the lot, the Redmi 6 Pro was also a mid-ranger priced at Rs 12,999. Well, a successor to that – the Redmi 7 Pro has appeared online.

The Redmi 7 Pro from Xiaomi has surfaced on the web with the company’s new design approach on the front – yes, the Redmi 7 Pro will also be featuring latest ‘waterdrop’ notch design as well. This design has become quite familiar in this year with brands like OnePlus, Realme, Vivo, and OPPO adapting to waterdrop or dewdrop design display on the front that holds the front-facing camera and the speaker grille.

The Redmi Series have been known to be adjusting to the latest design approach every year. Be it the dual cameras on the rear, which has become a norm now or the notch display, which the Redmi 6 series phones have featured. So, we could be seeing the water drop notch displays from Xiaomi in 2019 starting with this Redmi 7 Pro.

Bear in mind, the authenticity of the leaked image cannot be trusted entirely, however, the surfaced image suggests that the phone’s configuration as well.  It would be sporting a 5.84-inch FD+ water drop display. And, it would be coming with dual rear cameras – with 12MP and 5MP sensors. The device is powered by the latest Snapdragon 632 processor coupled with 3 or 4GB of RAM followed by 32/64/128 GB of onboard storage. A 2900mAh battery powers the Redmi 7 Pro, and the phone would be running on Android 9.0 Pie based MIUI 10.
