Xiaomi to Launch Entry-level Redmi 7A in India in July

Update — Xiaomi launched the entry-level Redmi 7A smartphone in China in May. The recent reports suggested the company to launch the same device in Europe in July. It is even expected to be priced at around EUR 100. Now, the Indian variant of the Redmi 7A is spotted online with the model number M1903C3EI. As per the leaks, the Redmi 7A will also be launched in India in the month of July. While the Redmi 7 is retailing for Rs 7,999, the upcoming Redmi 7A might cost between Rs 5,000 and Rs 6,000.
Earlier (June 18th, 2019) — The newly launched Redmi 7A is the company’s latest entry-level smartphone. As of now, the company is only selling it in China. While there is no official confirmation about the availability fo the device in the global markets, it is already listed by a few retailers in Czechia and Slovakia. The Redmi 7A could officially make its Europan debut in the month of July. While the exact pricing of the Redmi 7A is still unknown, it is rumored to cost around EUR 100 which is slightly higher than the Chinese pricing.
(May 28th, 2019) — Last week, Redmi teased the Redmi 7A smartphone by revealing the first look and key specifications. Today, the company has officially launched its latest entry-level smartphone in the Chinese market. The Redmi 7A will be the successor to last year’s Redmi 6A which came with MediaTek Helio A22 chipset. With the new Redmi 7A, the company went back to the Snapdragon chipset. Talking about the design, the device comes with a polycarbonate body with slightly curved edges and rounded corners. We can also notice the camera bump on the rear.
On the front, the Redmi 7A sports 5.45-inch IPS display with HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, it comes powered by the 12nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 octa-core processor clocked at up to 2.0GHz. The device comes with 2GB/3GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal storage. There is also a dedicated MicroSD card slot for further expansion of storage on this device. The device runs on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box with MIUI 10 skin laid on top.
In the camera department, the Redmi 7A sports 13MP camera on the rear with LED flash and a 5MP camera on the front for selfies. It is backed by a 4,000mAh non-removable battery and supports only 10W power input. Both the power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and MicroUSB 2.0 port. It comes in Blue and Black color options. It measures 146.30 x 70.41 x 9.55 mm and weighs 165 grams.
Talking about the pricing, the Redmi 7A with 16GB and 32GB of internal storage is priced at CNY 549 (approx USD 80 / INR 5,500) and CNY 599 (approx USD 87 / INR 6,000) respectively. There is also a 3GB RAM variant which costs CNY 799 (approx USD 115 / INR 8,000). It is now available for pre-order and will go on sale starting June 6th in China.
