Last week, a new Xiaomi smartphone with the model number M1808D2TE got certified by TENAA. Based on the leaks, it will be soon launched as Mi 8 Youth in China. The company is also expected to sell this device for 1999 Yuan. FYI, the company first ever smartphone Mi 1 (a.k.a Mi Phone) was also sold for 1999 Yuan. Today, the company’s latest post on Weibo teases the Mi 8 Youth smartphone. While the post is about the first sale of Mi Band 3 NFC variant, we can see the Mi 8 Youth in the bowl with horizontally stacked dual rear cameras.

As mentioned in the TENAA listing, the Mi 8 Youth will be available in several color options. Also, there are additional three color options with gradient finish. After Huawei and Honor, we are seeing several manufacturers including OPPO and Vivo launching smartphones in gradient colors. Talking about the specifications, the Mi 8 Youth sports 6.26-inch Full HD+ (2280×1080 pixels) notch display. Under the hood, it will come powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform.

It comes with 4GB/6GB/8GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB/128GB of internal storage. As seen with the POCO F1, the Mi 8 Youth will also come with MicroSD card slot for storage expansion. Talking about the cameras, we should be seeing 12MP + 5MP dual camera setup on the rear and a 24MP selfie camera on the front. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 10 out of the box. The device is backed by a 3,250mAh non-removable battery. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
