Redmi India had launched its successor to the Redmi 6 smartphone – the Redmi 7 alongside its camera-centric smartphone – the Redmi Y3. Xiaomi had earlier launched the Redmi 7 smartphone in the Chinese market, last month.
The Redmi 7 features the conventional Aura Design, which the company had introduced with its Redmi Note 7 series. The Redmi 7 will be featuring the new Aura Smoke design that showcases a dual color gradient finish on the rear. The Redmi 7 comes with a 6.26-inch Dot Notch display featuring 19:9 aspect ratio. The display comes with HD+ (1520×720) resolution, and it is further protected by 2.5D curved glass and additionally comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Under the hood, the Redmi 7 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 632 processor, which is a 14nm FinFET processor featuring 8x Qualcomm Kryo 250 cores coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. The Redmi 7 is equipped with 2G or 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage, which further can be expanded by microSD for up to 512GB.
As for the cameras, the Redmi 7 comes with dual cameras on the rear, wherein it features a 12MP primary sensor alongside the 2MP depth-sensing camera. The primary 12MP sensor comes with 1/25um pixel size image with an aperture of f/2.2. The dual cameras support Full HD video recording at 60fps, and the rear cameras are AI-powered with AI scene detection support. On the front, the Redmi 7 comes with an 8MP selfie shooter that offers AI portrait mode and AI-beautify mode, and Palm shutter feature as well.
The Redmi 7 ships with Android 9.0 Pie based MIUI 10 out-of-the-box and the device features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for authentication. The Redmi 7 comes with a 4000mAh battery capacity that can be charged via MicroUSB 2.0 port. On the connectivity front, the Redmi 7 supports Dual 4G, Bluetooth 4.2, and IR Blaster as well.
As stated earlier the Redmi 7 is available in two variants, the Redmi 7 with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage is priced at Rs 7,999 and the larger 3GB RAM and 32GB of storage is priced at Rs 8,999. The device will be available for sale from 29th April and it will be an Amazon Exclusive and also users can buy the device on Mi official website and Mi offline stores as well. The Redmi 7 will be featuring in Eclipse Black, Lunar Red, and Comet Blue gradient color finishes.
