Xiaomi Redmi 7 with Snapdragon 632 SoC & 4000mAh Battery Launched in China

Alongside the Redmi Note 7 Pro smartphone, Xiaomi also launched the Redmi 7 smartphone today in China. The device is the company’s latest smartphones in the entry-level segment. In terms of design, the Redmi 7 looks very much similar to the Redmi Note 7 smartphones. It comes with a polycarbonate body and will be in gradient finish color options. The device also runs on Android 9.0 Pie based MIUI 10 out of the box.
Talking about the other specifications, the Redmi 7 sports a 6.26″ HD+ display with 19:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It is also certified by TÜV Rheinland for controlling the blue light exposure. Under the hood is the 14nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 octa-core processor. It is a huge upgrade over the Helio P22 chipset used on the Redmi 6. The Redmi 7 is also the most affordable smartphone to come with Kryo CPU.
The device comes in 2GB + 16GB, 3GB + 32GB, and 4GB + 64GB storage options. There is also a MicroSD card slot for further expanding the storage on this device. On the rear, the device sports 12MP + 2MP dual camera setup on the rear. For selfies, the device offers an 8MP single front-facing camera. Along with the rear-facing fingerprint sensor, the device can also be unlocked via AI face unlock using the front camera.
The Redmi 7 packs a 4,000mAh battery and comes with a 5V/2A (10W) power adapter. Just like the Redmi Note 7 smartphones, the Redmi 7 is splash proof with the P2i nano coating. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth. GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, IR Blaster, and MicroUSB 2.0 port. The gradient finish Xiaomi Redmi 7 will be available in Red and Blue color options.
Coming to the pricing, the base variant with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage is priced at just CNY 699 (approx USD 105 / INR 7,10). The 3GB and 4GB RAM variants of the Redmi 7 are priced at CNY 799 and CNY 999 respectively. The device will be on sale from March 26th in China.
