This device comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset, but it’s quite common that many Android devices will slow down after few months of usage though few users would update the latest firmware, root their devices, performs factory resets and few other things to gear up the performance of the phone.
But, anyhow there are few things other than the above which helps you to speed up your phone. Let’s take a look at how can we speed up your device using these simple settings & modifications.
- Download Latest Update
- Uninstall Apps
- Use Performance Mode
- Remove Cache
- Disable Animations
- Factory Reset
Download the Latest Update
This is the first and foremost thing to do by the smartphone users. The manufacturing companies will release OTA in time which optimizes the device performance by fixing the bugs. So, Redmi 2 Prime users should check and install the latest MIUI updates. If your smartphone is still facing the performance issues even after the software update, then move on to below-mentioned tips.
Uninstalling unused Apps
Sometimes, your phone could get lagged even when you have very few apps on the device. There are apps in every device which are not in use, but users forgot to remove them. As a result, few of those apps become responsible for the slow performance of the phone. So, Redmi 2 Prime users should verify all the apps and if at all, there are any unused apps available, then uninstall those apps.
Also, few apps keep loading in the background, that not only consume the battery faster but also slows down your phone. It’s time to kill those apps by force closing them, and if they are unnecessary, then it is advisable to uninstall those apps permanently.
Use the Performance Mode
Many things in the background are functioning without your knowledge on your phone. These features cannot be altered by the users as they are system related. But, after the MIUI 6 update, an extra feature has been added using which you can make your device perform little faster.
Now, Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime users can boost up their devices using system optimization and performance mode. Just go into the Additional Settings > Battery, and then alter the system optimization option. Also, you can choose performance mode in the power settings which in turn speeds up your device.
Delete & Remove / Clearing Cache
There might be another reason for the slow performance of your device because of the Cache files. Whenever any app is accessed, the cache will be stored, and as we ignore to remove the cache, it builds its size and indirectly it affects the performance of the device.
So, open the apps list in your device and clear the cache manually by opening each app. Also, using the ‘Security’ feature, scan your device and “clear the system trash”.
Disabling animations and restricting background apps
Disabling or reducing the animation scale will make your device smoother but in fact, it does not effect the processor. You can change the animation scale settings in the developer options which can be found in the additional settings of your device. Reduce the scale to 0.5x or else disable it to make your device faster.
You can also restrict the background apps by limiting the processes or by completely disabling it. This option is also found in the developer options under background process limit.
Factory Reset & Start over
Most of the Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime users got better results by performing a factory reset on their devices. But it is advisable to use this option only when your device is extremely slow even after trying all the above options. Before performing a factory reset, make sure to backup all your data as this option will remove all the data from your device and makes it as a new device.
