Xiaomi Mi Play with Helio P35 SoC & Android 9.0 Pie Officially Launched in Europe
Back in December 2018, Xiaomi launched the most affordable smartphone in the Mi lineup called as Mi Play. It is the also the company’s first smartphone to come with waterdrop notch display and gradient body. Till date, the Mi Play was exclusively sold in the Chinese market. It is now making its European debut by launching in Ukraine alongside the Redmi Note 7 smartphone. It comes in Black, Gold, and Blue color options and is aggressively priced at UAH 4,699 (approx USD 175 / INR 12,000).
Compared to other smartphones featuring waterdrop notch, the Mi Play comes with relatively thicker bezels. It sports a 5.84-inch display with Full HD+ (2280 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the Mi Play comes powered by 12nm MediaTek Helio P35 octa-core processor. The Mi Play is the world’s first smartphone to feature this new chipset from MediaTek. The device packs 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
In terms of optics, it comes with 12MP + 2MP dual cameras on the rear with f/2.2 aperture and an 8MP single camera on the front for selfies. The Mi Play is backed by a 3,000mAh non-removable and supports 5V/2A (10W) fast charging. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 4.2, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. It lacks the 3.5mm audio jack for using the standard earphones. The Mi Play measures 147.76 x 71.89 x 7.8 mm and weighs around 150 grams.
