Update – Earlier today Lin Bin, co-founder and president of Xiaomi had teased the launch of the Redmi Note 3 by posting the image of the device on his Weibo account. Now he came up with another image showing the glimpse of Mi Pad 2. As per the image, the tablet looks very slim and features the a rear camera on the top left of the device with no LED flash as seen on 2014 launched Mi Pad.

We can also find the volume rockers and the power button the right edge of the device.  Recently the tablet passed through GeekBench leaking few specifications. It runs on the Android 5.1 Lollipop and will be powered by the Intel X Z8500 quad-core processor clocked at 2.24GHz. There are few rumors suggesting the device to launch with Windows 10 OS. While nothing can be confirmed yet, let’s wait for the official launch of the device at the Grand Finale event scheduled on November 24.

Earlier: Nov 12, 2015 – Mi Pad is the Xiaomi‘s first ever tablet that was launched way back in March 2014 and until now the company hasn’t launched the successor to it. There are rumors about the Mi Pad 2 from few months ago, but the company hasn’t mentioned anything anywhere. Today the upcoming Mi5 was spotted on Geekbench confirming the rumored specifications. Now the Mi Pad 2 is the latest device to be benchmarked where we can get a glimpse on few specifications.

While it is rumored to launch with both Windows and Android OS, the listing shows the device to run on Android 5.1 Lollipop. It will be powered by the Intel X Z8500 quad-core processor clocked at 2.24GHz. It is accompanied by 2GB of RAM, and we expect the company to include 16GB of internal storage considering it to be a budget tablet.

The latest Mi Pad 2 scored 985 points on single-core and 3268 points on multi-core while 2014 launched Mi Pad scored 1113 and 3481 points on Single-core and multi-core respectively. It is also rumored to come with a metal frame around the tablet and glass on front and back of the tablet.

The Xiaomi Mi Pad had been now retailing at Rs.10,000 and offered specifications almost similar to the HTC made Nexus 9 that is costs almost double of Mi Pad’s price.  In September, the tablet is certified in China from which we came to know that tablet comes with a model number 2015716. While the Mi5 is expected to be launched at December 3rd event, we can also safely assume the launch of Mi Pad 2 on that same date. Stay tuned for more updates…!
