There are rumors about Pepsi debuting the smartphone market by launching it’s first ever smartphone. Last month there is also a  dedicated page with the title ‘Pepsi Phone’ on Weibo which was later removed. Though the sources related to the company, have mentioned that the launch event was postponed in October. Finally today the company has taken the wrap of their new smartphones, yes they have launched not one but two.

The devices are named as ‘Pepsi Phone P1s‘ and ‘Pepsi Phone P1‘ while both the devices look similar and sports same specifications, the differences can be found in the connectivity options. Both the devices come with a 5.5-inch Full HD display with 2.5D glass laid on top of it. They are powered by the MediaTek MT6592 octa-core processor along with 2GB of RAM. There is 16GB of internal storage along with a MicroSD card slot.

They come with an Aluminum metal body and also sports a fingerprint sensor placed on the rear of the device. The devices come with 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. Both of them will be running on Dido OS 6.1 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop.

The devices measure 152.2 ×76.2×7.7 mm and weigh about 158 grams. The 3,000mAh battery keeps the devices powered on. While the P1 comes with 4G LTE support, the P1s supports 4G LTE along with Unicom network support. The device will be available in Blue, Gold and Silver colors and can be purchased through jd.com. Actually Pepsi licenses Shenzhen Scooby Communication Equipment Co., Ltd, the manufacturer of both the phones to use their brand over the smartphones.

Like the recent Xiaomi’s crowdfunding campaign, Pepsi had also chosen to crowd-source their device and the early bird offer costing the device only 499 Yuan is already sold out. Currently, the device is offering at 699 Yuan for the next 1000 members. The company had set a goal of crowd-sourcing 3,000,000 Yuan (approx $47,000 / Rs. 31,10,250) in total by the end of December 3rd. Even without any sales restrictions, the device costs only 1,299 Yuan (approx $203 / Rs. 13,500), which makes it the best deal even at the highest price of the campaign.
