Xiaomi Foldable Smartphone Revealed by its Co-founder

The hype is about to get real, yes the much anticipated foldable smartphones have already started to appear on the web. Ever since Samsung has demonstrated its first foldable display prototype and Royole releasing its foldable Flex Pai smartphone into the market, the internet has gone gaga about the new display technology. Earlier, Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has been teasing its foldable display phone, and now a new development has shed some light on the upcoming XIaomi’s foldable phone.

Well, a new video from Xiaomi’s co-founder Bin Lin on the micro-blogging site Weibo has finally revealed the much-anticipated foldable phone, which the company calls it double folding phone. Yes, the devices’ display double folds from tablet to a phone. The video showcases a regular tablet with MIUI running on top of fit, which later folds on two sides of the display to become a regular smartphone with curved edges, which is quite interesting to see.

According to Xiaomi, the double folding phone is coming soon that has undergone through several technologies including – flexible folding screen technology, four-wheel drive folding shaft technology, flexible cover technology, and MIUI adaptation to make this a unique looking double folding smartphone.

The symmetrical double folding smartphone looks certainly interesting; however, the cameras on the tablet cum smartphone are yet to be seen. What appears to be a prototype in the video will go into mass production in the future, states the company. Xiaomi is also considering to name its first double foldable display smartphone as Xiaomi Dual Flex or Xiaomi MIX Flex. We can look forward to the launch of this phone within this year.
