Well, we have all been waiting for the Galaxy F series device from Samsung which will be a foldable device and was also expected to be the first foldable device after all the leaks and reports. Huawei is also in the line with Samsung to bring its Foldable device, but now there is a company called Royole which is based from Fremont, California, Hong Kong and also in Shenzhen, China looks to be winning the race by bringing the first foldable device. YES! You heard it right, Royole has unveiled its 7.8-inch foldable FlexPai phone-tablet at an event held in Beijing.
FlexPai from Royole is a foldable device that can be folded from the rear side facing inward making it a dual screen phone. After folding, it becomes a smartphone with two screens on either side, but it would be becoming bulky. The device will be offered in 6GB RAM variant and 128GB of storage and is available in China starting today for 8,999 Yuan (approx Rs. 95,500, US $1295) while the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage option are priced at 9,998 Yuan (approx Rs. 106000, US $1438).
The developer version of this device is available globally and the customers in China can get the consumer edition from today. The company also announced that it is expecting the device to be shipped in the late December, maybe around Christmas. The company also claims that the device has passed the durability test by folding it more than 200,000 times and when folded the other secondary screen can be used together if required or even independently.
Moreover, the folded edges are also capable of showing notifications with the company has made for managing calls and messages that need not need a bigger screen. Now coming to the specs sheet of the FlexPai, it will be having a 7.8-inch AMOLED screen with 1920 x 1,440 pixels resolution and also runs on Snapdragon 8-series chipset. There is a 20MP camera on the rear along with a 16MP camera. It will run on the latest Android 9.0 based Water OS and supports fast charging and has USB Type-C port, MicroSD card slot and also fingerprint sensor to enhance the security levels.
Well, with Samsungs develop conference scheduled for next week in San Francisco, it is expected that the company will be unveiling its foldable device.
