Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Gaming Smartphone to Launch in India on May 27th

A couple of months, Xiaomi’s Black Shark launched the Black Shark 2 gaming smartphone in China. It is also made available in selected European markets. As expected, the company is making its debut in the Indian market with the Black Shark 2. ASUS and Nubia are the only smartphone brands to launch their gaming smartphones in India. In the coming weeks, Nubia will also launch its latest Red Magic 3 gaming smartphone in India.

Unlike the Red Magic 3, the Black Shark still comes with the 60Hz display. However, the 6.39-inch True View AMOLED display on this device is controlled by an independent control chip. It also supports full DC dimming technology and includes adaptive display function for automatically adjusting the display effect according to factors such as the environment. With this device, the company also introduced Apple’s 3D Touch like technology called Magic Press.

Under the hood, the device comes powered by the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform built on 7nm FinFET process. It comes coupled with Kryo 485 CPU and Adreno 640 GPU. The device also includes a six-layer liquid cooling 3.0 system and will also help in avoiding thermal throttling. The Black Shark 3 packs up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie based Black Shark OS out of the box.

In terms of optics, the device comes with 48MP + 13MP dual camera setup on the rear with f/1.75 aperture and a single 20MP selfie camera on the front with f/2.0 aperture. The device is backed by a 4,000mAh non-removable battery and supports up to 27W fast charging. On the rear, the Black Shark 2 also sports RGB backlit LED logo. The device measures 163.61 x 75.01 x 8.77 mm and weighs 205 grams. In China, the Black Shark 2 is available for as low as CNY 3199 (approx USD 475 / INR 32,700).

In India, we can expect the base variant of the device to cost between Rs 35,000 and Rs 40,000 price range. The company might also bring the slew of accessories announced alongside the Black Shark 2 in China. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for the exact pricing and availability details for the Indian market.
