Withings Thermo Wi-Fi Connected Temporal Thermometer Launched at $99.95

Withing, the brand known for its connected health revolution by inventing beautiful, smart products and services that help people become happier and healthier, unveils its new health product, i.e., the Withings Thermo, an Ultra Fast Wi-Fi connected Temporal thermometer. This device measures the temperature from the temporal artery at the side of the Head. It comes with the new HotSpot Sensor Technology, i.e., a sophisticated sensor array of 16 independent Infrared(IR) sensors that can quickly locate and measure the IR signature and heat being emitted.

With just a point in the direction of the artery, without requiring any motion or scanning, the sensors take 4,000 measurements in 2 seconds while a specially-designed algorithm automatically corrects for biases, such as skin heat loss and the ambient temperature. The hottest point is then determined to ensure the most accurate and reliable single temperature reading.

How does the Thermo Works?

To measure the body temperature and record it on your device, you need to download the dedicated application on your device and connect the application using the Wi-Fi or the Bluetooth. Now place the thermometer near the head region and press the button, the temperature in recorded within fraction of seconds and the reading is shown either in Celsius and Fahrenheit with a vibration indication that the temperature is measured. If you are connected with your smartphone, the data is recorded, and you can track your previous records also.

Withings Thermo comes with a color coded LED feedback, where if it glows in green color the temperature is normal, orange indicates moderate temperature and Red is for the elevated temperature levels.

The application on your smartphone gives the ability to control and manage fever episodes of multiple users, by following the temperature trend and getting a clear fever status at any time. It also allows users to provide contextual information associated with readings, such as logging symptoms or making notes of any administered medicines. Also, you can manually set the notifications where it will give the reminders for better monitoring of the fever episodes. All collected data can be easily shared with a physician at any time.

The device is powered by two AAA size batteries that can last upto two years making the device portable. As the instrument is small, it can be easily carried with anywhere and can be kept in anyone’s pocket easily.

Withings Thermo will be displayed during CES Unveiled 2016 in Las Vegas from January 6th to 9th. It will be available in the first quarter of 2016 priced at $99.95 and will be supported by a dedicated app for both iOS and Android devices.
