Vivo Z3x with 16MP Selfie Camera & Android 9.0 Pie Launched in China

Last year, Vivo introduced the all-new Z-series by launching the Vivo Z1 smartphone in China. Now, the company launched a new Z-series smartphone called Vivo Z3x. Apart from the selfie camera, both the Vivo Z1 and Z3x share the same hardware. Even on the design front, both these looks exactly the same. However, the new Vivo Z3x now comes in purple color option with a gradient finish. It is also available standard Black and Red color options. The device comes with a curved glossy finish polycarbonate body.
While all the recently launched smartphones are coming with waterdrop notch displays, the Vivo Z3x sports wider notch as seen on the last year’s Vivo Z1. On the front, the device comes with a 6.26-inch IPS display with Full HD+ (2280 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood is the 14nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 Mobile Platform coupled with Kryo 260 CPU and Adreno 512 GPU. The Vivo Z3x comes only in 4GB RAM variant and packs 64GB of internal storage.
There is also a dedicated MicroSD card slot for further expanding the storage up to 256GB. On the rear, it comes with a dual camera setup featuring 13MP primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 2MP secondary sensor with f/2.4 aperture. While the Vivo Z1 came with a 24MP front-facing selfie camera, the new Vivo Z3x only sports 16MP sensor. The company now added AI features like auto scene detection within the camera app. It is backed by a 3,260mAh non-removable battery and there is no information about the fast charging support.
The Vivo Z3x runs on the latest Android 9.0 Pie based FunTouch OS 9.0 out of the box. It also brings the dedicated gaming mode to enhance the device performance for a lag-free gaming experience. Both the power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge of the device. The device also comes with the in-house voice assistant called Jovi AI. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi (2.4GHz & 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS, USB OTG, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port.
It measures 154.81 x 75.03 x 7.89 mm and weighs 149.3 grams. Talking about the pricing, the Vivo Z3x with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage is priced at CNY 1198 (approx USD 180 / INR 12,500). It is currently available for pre-orders and will be on sale from May 1st. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details about the upcoming Vivo smartphones!
