Vivo Z1i Smartphone with Snapdragon 636 SoC & 128GB Storage Launched

Back in May, Vivo launched the Vivo Z1 as the first smartphone under the new Z-series. It is one of the most affordable smartphones to come with Snapdragon 660 Mobile Platform. Last week, the same Vivo Z1 was launched as Vivo V9 6GB in Indonesia. Today, the company launched the Vivo Z1i as the trimmed down variant of the Vivo Z1. Both the devices come with glossy finish plastic body and offer nice grip with the curved edges.
Both the Vivo Z1 and Z1i shares the same 6.26-inch Full HD+ (2280 x 1080 pixels) IPS display with 19:9 aspect ratio. Unlike the Vivo Z1, the new Z1i comes powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 Mobile Platform and is coupled with Adreno 509 GPU. The device runs on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo-based FunTouchOS 4.0 out of the box. It offers 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage that can expandable up to 256GB using a MicroSD card slot.
In the camera department, the Vivo Z1i offers 13MP + 2MP dual rear cameras with f/2.2 aperture and a 16MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture. While there is a circular fingerprint sensor on the rear, the device also supports face unlock. It is backed by a 3,260mAh non-removable battery and lacks fast charging support. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port.
The device comes with hybrid SIM card where the user has to choose between the secondary SIM and the MicroSD card. Both the power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge of the device. As the device is exclusive to the Chinese market, the company is also integrating in-house Jovi AI assistant. It comes in Black and Red color options. Coming to the pricing, the Vivo Z1i costs 1898 Yuan in China. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details about the upcoming Vivo smartphones!
