Vivo Y51L with Snapdragon 410 SoC & 8MP Camera Launched at Rs. 11,980

Today, we have quite a few launches from Honor, OPPO, Blackberry and now Vivo is the latest smartphone manufacturer to launch its smartphone Vivo Y51L. Unlike the other budget smartphones launched today, the Vivo Y51L priced at Rs. 11,980 doesn’t seem to be competitive with its specifications. According to the company, the device is assembled at its Greater Noida plant near New Delhi.
Speaking on the newly launched Y51L, Mr. Alex Feng, CEO, Vivo India, said,
“The Indian smartphone market is tech savvy and price sensitive. The affordable segment is the growth driver, as the young generation today looks for a phone which is best in features, beautiful in design and is priced competitively. Last year, we witnessed huge sales and positive demand for products in the budget range across markets, which boosted us to launch the Y51L. The new launch will further strengthen our hold on the market and help us establish ourselves among our consumers.”
While most of the recent smartphones at this price features a Full HD display, but the Vivo Y51L is limited to a 5-inch IPS display with qHD (960 x 540 pixels) resolution. It is powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. The Y51L offers a 2 GB RAM and 16GB ROM along with a MicroSD card slot support up to 128GB. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with FuntouchOS 2.5 overlaid.
It has an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and autofocus, and on the front is the 5MP selfie camera with beauty mode. The device is backed by a 2,350mAh battery that can give a single day of battery life. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, OTG, GPS, and MicroUSB 2.0 port.
The device feels very slim in hand by measuring just 7.52mm and weighs about 157 grams. It sports a metal frame around the device with glass on front and back. The device will be available through across India via offline stores. Stay tuned for more updates!
