Today, we have quite a few launches from Honor, OPPO, Blackberry and now Vivo is the latest smartphone manufacturer to launch its smartphone Vivo Y51L. Unlike the other budget smartphones launched today, the Vivo Y51L priced at Rs. 11,980 doesn’t seem to be competitive with its specifications. According to the company, the device is assembled at its Greater Noida plant near New Delhi.
Speaking on the newly launched Y51L, Mr. Alex Feng, CEO, Vivo India, said,
“The Indian smartphone market is tech savvy and price sensitive. The affordable segment is the growth driver, as the young generation today looks for a phone which is best in features, beautiful in design and is priced competitively. Last year, we witnessed huge sales and positive demand for products in the budget range across markets, which boosted us to launch the Y51L. The new launch will further strengthen our hold on the market and help us establish ourselves among our consumers.”
While most of the recent smartphones at this price features a Full HD display, but the Vivo Y51L is limited to a 5-inch IPS display with qHD (960 x 540 pixels) resolution. It is powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. The Y51L offers a 2 GB RAM and 16GB ROM along with a MicroSD card slot support up to 128GB. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with FuntouchOS 2.5 overlaid.
