Bluboo XFire 2 Most Affordable Smartphone with Fingerprint Sensor Launched

Bluboo, a Chinese smartphone manufacturer has launched their new handset, which might be the most affordable handset with fingerprint sensor on the rear side of the device. In the past couple of days we have been seeing a lot of activities in the budget segment and an interest to introduce fingerprint sensor on budget smartphones. Earlier, it was the Coolpad Note 3 Lite, which was launched just two weeks ago in India. The new handset launched by Bluboo is named XFire 2 and it is priced as low as $59.99, which converts to around Rs 4000.
The XFire 2 comes in two variants; first one comes with Single SIM support while second model comes with a Dual SIM support. Available in four color options – Rose Gold, Black, Golden, and White – the Dual SIM version would cost you $73.86, which converts to Rs 5000. It makes this cheapest phone sporting a fingerprint sensor. The device is listed on an international e-commerce website, Gearbest, as it can be pre-order right now. The shipping starts from February 5th.
Talking about the specifications of the XFire 2, it sports a 5-inch 720p resolution display with 2.5D curved glass and a 170 degree viewing angle. Under the hood, it has a 64-bit Quad-core MediaTek MT6580 chipset which can clock up to 1.2GHz. Alongside is the Mali-400 MP graphics processing unit, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. It is running on the latest Android Lollipop 5.1 OS version. The interface is customized and offers up to 8 themes to fully change the appearance of the system.
In terms of the camera package, it comes with an 8-megapixel resolution sensor (real is 5MP) on the rear side while a 5-megapixel image sensor (real is 2MP), both of these modules are accompanied by a LED Flash. The front facing camera boasts an 88 degree wide angle lens, so that you can fit a lot of people in one selfie. The connectivity options include, 3G, Wi-FI, Bluetooth, microUSB 2.0 and GPS. All this is powered by a non-removable Li-ion Polymer with capacity of 2150mAh.
The interesting factor apart from the fingerprint sensor is that the device sports a full metal body with CNC polished and Arc back for sturdy and compact feeling. It can be an ultimate experience having a metal build and biometric sensor in such dirt cheap smartphone. In related news, Bluboo has done a partnership with Indian Telecom provider, Aircel to enter Indian smartphone market. But we are yet to see any device launched in the country. We hope this handset would be brought in by the Aircel as it has a potential to woo consumers.
