Vivo V5 Smartphone with 20MP Front Camera Launched at Rs. 17980, V5 Plus to Launch Soon

After several rumors and leaks, Vivo V5 smartphone is made official today in India. This device will be the successor to Vivo V3 smartphone that was launched in the first half of 2016. Unlike many other Chinese smartphone brands, Vivo has a great presence in the Indian offline market. This device will be offering some decent specifications compared to Vivo V3 and V3 Max smartphones. It will be running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based on highly customized FunTouch OS 2.6 out of the box. On the front is a capacitive home button that comes integrated with the fingerprint sensor. According to the company, the device can be unlocked in just 0.2 seconds which is 50% faster than earlier Vivo smartphones. Talking about the internal specifications of the Vivo V5, it comes with a 5.5-inch IPS display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution and a 2.5D Gorilla Glass glass laid on top for extra protection. Under the hood is the 64-bit MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz. This is the same processor that also powers the recently launched Lenovo Moto M smartphone. The Vivo V5 includes 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded till 128GB using the MicroSDcard slot. The dedicated AK4376 chip on the Vivo V5 offers Hi-Fi sound.

Coming to the USP of the device, there is a whopping 20MP Sony IMX376 sensor on the front with f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens, and Moonlight LED flash. While on the rear is a 13MP camera with LED flash and PDAF for faster focusing. The device is backed by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery that also supports fast charging. It is dual SIM dual standby device and offers 4G VoLTE for making HD voice calls and accessing faster data speeds. It has the SmartSplit 2.0 feature where the user can do true multitasking by placing two apps side-by-side on the screen. This same feature comes by default in the latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS.

The device is priced at Rs. 17,980 and will be available in Crown Gold and Space Grey color options. The pre-order period is from 16th to 25th of this month, and the first sale goes live on November 26th. Vivo also announced that V5 Plus smartphone will be launched soon here in India.
