Vivo has started pushing a new update to its Vivo S1 smartphone in India. The update will bring improvements to the Fingerprint recognition, network performance, better camera functions and more. Since the update is being rolled out in phases it might take some time before it reaches your device depending on the region you are in. The new firmware version is 1.6.17 and size of the OTA update is 353 MB.
The OTA update will also bring few more changelog and the company says that the update has optimized the fingerprint recognition logic so the time taken to authenticate the user will be cut down. It also said to have fixed abnormal power consumption caused by third-party applications. Improved camera functions for better photo and video sharing along with improvements with Wi-FI network.
To remind you the Vivo S1 was launched in India earlier this month that comes with 6.38-inch FHD+ 19.5:9 Super AMOLED display which the company calls as Halo FullView Display. It provides a screen-to-body-ratio of 90% and the pixel density of 404ppi and the AMOLED display comes with Schott Xensation 3D Protection alongside the Widevine L1 support for HD playback on the video streaming apps. Under the hood, there the Helio P65 SoC from MediaTek which is built on a 12nm process coupled with Cortex A75 cores.
The handset comes with 4GB / 6GB RAM and 64GB / 128GB onboard storage options respectively, which can be further expanded up to 256GB via dedicated microSD card slot. For cameras, there is a 16MP Sony IMX499 main sensor coupled with an 8MP AI-powered Super Wide Angle camera alongside a 2MP depth-sensing camera. There is also a 32MP selfie camera which is placed inside the notch that comes with AI Face beauty and other features.
Out of the box, the smartphone comes with Android 9 Pie Operating system with the companies own Funtouch OS 9 on top. It is powered with a 4500mAh battery with the support for Vivo’s 18W dual-engine fast charge. For authentication, there is an in-display fingerprint sensor along with facial unlocking option.
