Huawei has started rolling out a new update to its Huawei 20 Pro smartphone which will bring DC Dimming feature. The latest EMUI 9.1 update comes with the software version EMUI 220.127.116.11 and is now available in China and should be rolling out to other markets also soon. This feature is already available on the P30 series which is based on Android 9 Pie which brings in many other features like, EROFS file system, GPU Turbo 3.0 and Moon mode.
Now the last year’s flagship model – Mate 20 Pro is getting the enhanced EMUI adding the DC dimming. This feature can reduce eye strain for certain categories of sensitive people by dimming the screen by directly lowering the voltage. Till now the alternate method that has been used is the PWM which varied the width of the light pulse to control brightness. The frequency of the pulses is high and makes sure most of the people are not affected.
