At the MWC 2018, Vivo showcased a concept phone called APEX which features only display on the front. While the device came with highest ever screen-to-body ratio, the company also shared its vision of offering up to 99% screen-to-body ratio. Apart from the highest ever screen-to-body ratio, the Vivo APEX also introduced several new technologies. Now, a new TVC for the upcoming FIFA World Cup from Vivo revealed a new smartphone that is mentioned to be unveiled on June 12th in Shanghai, China.

While we don’t have confirmation over the name of the device, it looks similar the APEX concept smartphone. From the below image, we can see there is no room for placing front camera, sensor, and earpiece. Since the bottom bezel is slightly thicker than the others, this new smartphone might not offer 99% screen-to-body ratio. While there will be a pop-up camera for capturing selfies, the sensors might be placed under the display.

A majority of the bottom portion of this upcoming smartphone should also detect the fingerprint sensor. As of now, the company launched the Vivo X20 Plus UD and X21 smartphones with under-display fingerprint sensors. Next week, the company is also launching the Vivo X21 in the Indian market. Talking about the APEX-like smartphone, we don’t know what it will be called or what will be its internals. However, we can expect to see some leaks about this device in the coming days.

There are also rumors that it might be launched as the Vivo Xplay7 in China. It will be coming with a 5.99-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The recently launched Vivo smartphones came with a notch display and offered 19:9 aspect ratio. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar to know more about this upcoming smartphone from Vivo.
