Unlike Micromax or Intex, another Indian brand, Videocon hasn’t been that effective with their smartphone line-up. While their devices come with affordable price tag, they lack the competitive specifications to stand beside the Chinese budget smartphones. Now a new smartphone called Videocon Q1 V500K is listed on company’s website with complete specifications. The pricing and the availability of the device are yet to be announced.
The device comes with a removable plastic back panel, and we expect the device to be priced between Rs. 10,000 to Rs.15,000 price range. It comes with a 5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) OGS display. The Videocon Q1 is powered by 64-bit Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz. It also includes 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded additionally upto another 32GB. The device includes several bloatware apps like Opera Mini, Chillx, Daily Hunt, and few others.
It is a dual SIM device with 4G VoLTE support, which means the Jio 4G SIM can be used on this device. The users also get Jio Welcome Offer with Unlimited 4G data, voice calls, and SMS. Talking about the cameras, there is a 13MP rear camera with PDAF and an 8MP selfie camera on the front. The rear camera is assisted by a dual LED flash, while on the front is a single LED flash. The device is powered by Li-Polymer battery, but the capacity is not mentioned in the listing.
The Videocon Q1 will be running on years old Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OS. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, A-GPS, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. It measures 139.8 x 69.6 x 8.9 mm and weighs 140 grams. The device can run dual apps with which the users can use two Whatsapp accounts on this device. The company is also offering a free scratch guard and flipcover within the package. Videocon also partnered with Eros Now to provide limited time premium account with every device.
