Back in mid-2017, the premium smartphone maker Vertu went bankrupt with over $128 million in debt. The UK-based Vertu now made a comeback to the smartphone market with its latest ultra-premium smartphone called Vertu Aster P. Just like the earlier Vertu smartphones, the new Aster P also comes with a dedicated button to access the 24/7 concierge service. As of now, the new smartphone from Vertu is only limited to the Chinese market.
Talking about the build quality, the device sports a Titanium frame with the leatherback body. The company uses the calfskin, ostrich skin, lizard skin or the rear Himalayan crocodile skin depending on the variant. Unlike the regular flagship devices, the Aster P comes with the premium sapphire crystal glass on the top for extra protection. The Titanium alloy gull-wing style SIM card cover on the rear also comes with the signature of the person who built the device.
The Aster P also comes with exclusive ringtones created by London Symphony Orchestra. Vertu is also providing the encryption technology for the calls and messages through the V TALK app. The app also includes features like remote locking and remote data deletion. Talking about the specifications, the Vertu Aster P sports 4.9-inch AMOLED display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio.
Under the hood is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 Mobile Platform coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. While the device supports dual SIM dual standby, it lacks the MicroSD card support. In terms of optics, the Aster P sports 12MP camera on the rear and a 20MP selfie camera on the front. It is backed by a 3,200mAh battery and supports Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology. With the Aster P, the company is also skipping the 3.5mm audio jack.
Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and USB Type-C port. It measures 149.8 x 71.0 x 10.1 mm and weighs 220 grams. The device comes with 5 different type of leatherbacks in almost 40 color options. The device is now available to pre-order. Talking about the pricing, the Vertu Aster P will be retailing from CNY 35,800 and goes all the way up to CNY 98,000. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details!
