UMi is a little known Chinese smartphone manufacturer that has launched few affordable smartphone with decent specifications. The UMi Fair priced at $99 is one of the most affordable smartphones available in the market at that time. Now the company has announced to bring the bezel-less display to the budget users by launching UMi Touch X smartphone. Till date, all the bezel-less displays like ZTE Nubia Z9 came with premium price tags.
The UMi Touch X will be priced at $150 and will be available starting from March 20th. It comes with a metal frame around the device with a physical home button on the front that comes integrated with a fingerprint sensor. On the front is a 5.5-inch Full HD display and comes powered by an unknown octa-core processor. There will be 3GB of RAM and storage is expected to be of 16GB.
There is no information related to the camera and connectivity on this device. It comes backed by a 4,000mAh battery that can easily last for more than a day of usage. Apart from the bezel-less UMi Touch X, the company has recently launched the Windows 10 powered UMi Touch smartphone.
While the UMi Touch comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box, the company is offering Windows 10 Mobile ROM that can be installed on the Android-powered UMi Touch. If there is some popularity among the users, the company has mentioned to offer Windows 10 out-of-the-box. Earlier Microsoft has launched the Windows 10 ROM for Xiaomi Mi 4 in China.
The UMi Touch is also priced at $150 and comes with a metallic unibody design. Under the hood is the 1.5GHz MediaTek octa-core processor along with 3GB of RAM & 16GB of storage.
