UMI Iron Pro with Helio X10 SoC & Fingerprint Sensor Officially Launched at $180

UMI is the lesser known Chinese smartphone brand that had earlier launched smartphones with decent specifications and cheaper prices. Today the company had officially launched the ‘UMI Iron Pro‘ which is the successor for the UMI Iron that was launched earlier this year. It is priced at just $180 and offers flagship specifications. According to the company, this is the world’s first smartphone to come with three different types of security features including Fingerprint Sensor, IRIS Scanner, and Voice Recognition.

The device sports a 5.5-inch display with Full HD resolution and is powered by the 1.3GHz MediaTek Helio X10 octa-core processor. This is the same processor that is also featured in LeTV Le 1s, RedMi Note 2, and Meizu MX5. It also has 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage along with a MicroSD card slot support upto 64GB. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and can be flash to other ROM’s with the UMI Rootjoy application.

It comes with hybrid SIM slot that supports dual SIM dual standby where you can add a MicroSD card instead of second SIM. The Iron Pro has a 13MP rear camera with Sony IMX214 sensor and an aperture of f/2.0.  For Selfies, there is an 8MP front camera along with LED flash that can capture better selfies even in the dark. At such a low price range, this is the best smartphone to offers such a great cameras at least on paper.

The fingerprint sensor added on the rear of the device can detect the correct the fingerprint when scanned through 360-degree angles. The battery of 3,300mAh is what keeps the device powered on, with a single charge of the battery the device can last up to 10-12 days on standby. Connectivity on this device includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, and USB Type-C 2.0 port.

On the bottom the device, you can find the USB Type-C port that comes with better data transfer speeds compared to the normal USB ports. The Notification LED which the company called it as ‘Skyline Notification’ looks beautiful on this device. With such a huge battery, the device weighs just 148 grams and measures just 7.9mm thick. The device will be available in the colors Silver and Black.
