Sony unveiled the flagship Xperia 1 smartphone at the MWC event held in February 2019. However, it is only made available a couple of months back, that too in selected markets. A few weeks back, we have seen leaks about the Sony Xperia 2 smartphone and also a mysterious Sony smartphone with six rear cameras. Now, the latest leaks suggest the company to launch two new smartphones called Sony Xperia 1s and Xperia 1v on July 9th in Tokyo, Japan. The leaked image reveals the triple rear camera setup on the top left corner of the device.
Above the rear camera module, we can spot the LED flash and laser autofocus. Along with the primary microphone on the bottom edge, the upcoming Xperia 1s/1v smartphones feature two more additional microphones. Just like Xperia 1, the two rumored Xperia smartphones comes with a glass body. Apart from the device names and rumored launch date, there is no other information available about these devices. The flagship Xperia 1 came with a 6.5-inch OLED Display with 4K (3840 x 1644 pixels) resolution, HDR10 playback support, and 21:9 aspect ratio.
Based on the rumors, the Xperia 1s & Xperia 1v could be launched as the affordable flagship with an LCD display. However, they might still offer the same 21:9 longer aspect ratio. Talking about the specifications of the Xperia 1, the device comes powered by the 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The Xperia 1 sports a 12MP primary camera with f/1.6 aperture, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera with f/2.4 aperture, and a 12MP telephoto camera with f/2.4 aperture.
For selfies, there is an 8MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and 84-degree wide-angle lens. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box with the custom Xperia UI laid on the top. While it comes with the front-firing stereo speaker setup with Dolby Atmos support, there is no 3.5mm audio jack for connecting standard earphones or headphones. Unlike the other premium flagship smartphones, the Xperia 1 comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details about the upcoming Sony Xperia smartphones!
