Huawei Nova 5 Pro with Kirin 980 SoC & 8GB RAM Gets Listed on Geekbench

Update — Huawei already listed the upcoming Nova 5 Pro smartphone on its official website. Now, the device is spotted on the benchmarking website Geekbench with the model number SEA-AL10. While the chipset is mentioned with the codename SEA, the actual benchmark scores suggest it to be the Kirin 980 SoC. The Kirin 980 octa-core processor is built on 7nm FinFET node and comes coupled with Mali-G76 GPU and dual NPU. The Nova 5 Pro scored 3520 on single-core and 9497 on multi-core tests. As the official listing mentioned, the device comes with 8GB of RAM and runs on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box.

Earlier (June 14th, 2019) — Huawei will be launching the all-new Nova 5 series on June 21st in China. As per the rumors, the company might launch three smartphones under the Nova 5 lineup — Nova 5, Nova 5i, and Nova 5 Pro. Huawei’s official online store Vmall has listed the Nova 5 Pro revealing the complete first look and key features. As per the listing on the company’s official website, the Nova 5 Pro and Nova 5i will be available for pre-orders starting June 14th and June 21st respectively.

However, there is no mention about the launch of Nova 5 smartphone which will reportedly come powered by the all-new Kirin 810 chipset built on 7nm FiNFET node. While the official launch is scheduled for June 21st, the company will start shipping the Nova 5 Pro and Nova 5i from June 28th. Talking about the Nova 5 Pro. it sports 2.5D curved glass on the front and rear. On the rear, the device sports quad camera setup featuring a 48MP primary sensor. It will be running on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box with EMUI 9.1 skin laid on the top.

It comes with a waterdrop notch display on the front which might offer Full HD+ resolution. The power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge of the device. While the USB Type-C port, microphone, and speaker can be spotted on the bottom edge, the Nova 5 Pro lacks the 3.5mm audio jack. Just like flagship Huawei P30 smartphone, the upcoming Nova smartphone also comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner on the front.

The Vmall listing also confirmed the company to provide the USB Type-C to 3.5mm adapter within the box. It will be available in two different storage options – 8GB + 128B and 8GB + 256GB. It might also come with a MicroSD card slot for further expansion of internal storage. Based on the leaks, the device will come powered by the flagship Kirin 980 octa-core processor coupled with Mali-G76 GPU.
