Samsung is still trying hard to fix the ongoing issue with the Galaxy Note 7 phablet. The device was recalled from million of owners across the globe and this whole gig cost them over a billion dollars. Well, we still don’t have an actual date as to when the replacement units will come back or what the exact procedure is. Even today many users are still using the same old defective unit, which essentially poses a threat in public.
We have already seen countless number of incidents with the Galaxy Note 7, so if you have missed any of them, then here are few –
- Second Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Explodes in a week while Charging
- Third Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Blast in Australia Left Owner with Minor Injuries
- Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Explosions turn Scarier, Burns down Garage & Jeep in the U.S
So after all this fiasco, consumers are still confused if they should be buying this or waiting for replacements, etc. However, it is reported the replacement units should be arriving by early October. But we don’t have any official confirmation on the same. Meanwhile, for all the people, who have pre-booked the device, Samsung is giving them two options to choose from. One is to go for a Samsung Galaxy J series smartphone as a replacement until the safe to use replacement units of the Note 7 arrives.
Alternatively, they can go for a Galaxy S7 or an S7 Edge with a replacement of any Note7 specific accessories with a refund of the price difference between devices. But if you go for a Galaxy S7 or the S7 Edge, then you will not be able to trade in for the Note 7 once the replacement units arrive. Those taking either of the options through the Samsung Exchange program will be getting a $25 gift card, in-store credit or bill credit from select carrier retail outlets. With that being said, it is recommended that users who are still using an old variant should immediately go and get it replaced.
