The South Korean tech Giant, Samsung had introduced its smart AI assistant Bixby at the launch of the Galaxy S8 smartphones. This is the company’s new take on the AI assistants which was supposedly competing with the existing array of assistants like the one from Apple, Amazon, and Google. Let’s just say that it is not really going well for Samsung as far as Bixby is concerned. Yes, no doubt it has great potential to be one of the best assistants out there. It’s just that it is not able to understand English!
Speaking of Bixby, it now looks like Samsung is planning on launching a new speaker powered by Bixby. Well, if you have been following the news lately, then might already know that Apple just launched a new Siri-powered speaker called HomePod at the WWDC keynote. And now according to the new reports which we have, it looks like Samsung is going to be the next one to enter this race with their own speaker.
Talking about the speaker itself, we don’t really have a lot of details since these are the just initial set of rumors. The source claims that the company is indeed working on one and it may launch in the market very soon. Our guess is that the company could unveil this at IFA 2017 show floor or it could even be delayed till CES OR MWC 2018. But if you want to know about what this speaker can do, then let us inform you that it will be pretty similar to what the other competitions are offering.
In fact, the subsidiary brand of Samsung, Harmon Kardon also made a similar speaker for Microsoft. So it is also safe to say that Samsung has enough resources to do so. But do make a note that just like every other smart speaker out there in the market, this one will also set you back a good amount of money. So if you are waiting for this and are planning to buy one, then be sure to save a decent amount of cash for the same. Having said that, we would like to know your thoughts on this. Would you be interested in buying this Bixby powered speaker if it ever makes it to India? Be sure to let us know your thoughts on this and also, stay tuned to PhoneRadar for more info like this.
