Motorola has just the new Moto Z2 Play smartphone here in India today. It is the successor to the regular Moto Z Play which was launched a year ago. The smartphone is priced decently and it has better internals than the predecessor. Well, talking about successors, another smartphone which was launched last year was the Moto Z and we are yet to get a successor to the same. While we have been hearing a lot about that particular smartphone, today the Moto Z2 was spotted on Geekbench.
Yes, the Moto Z2 has made an appearance on Geekbench website and it gives us some of the specs of the smartphone. Talking about the specs, it looks like the Moto Z2 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC which is currently the flagship chipset from Qualcomm. It is also powering some of the other smartphones like the Galaxy S8, HTC U11, etc. This SoC will be coupled with 4GB of RAM on the Moto Z2. now 4GB of RAM might sound like a lot less when we have smartphones like the OnePlus 5 rumored to come with 8GB of RAM, but it should do the job.
According to the Geekbench listing, the Moto Z2 runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat hence it is safe to say that the retail unit will also ship with the same. Well, that’s pretty much what’s clear from the listing. Now speaking of some other rumored specs, it looks like the smartphone will carry a dual camera sensor at the back. This will be first for a Motorola smartphone to carry a dual camera setup. The rumors also suggest that the selfie camera on the front will have dual LED flash as well.
Other rumored hardware features include a fingerprint scanner on the front as well which appears to remain unchanged from the current one. Having said that, we don’t really have a lot of info as to when will this smartphone make a debut. And as of now, we don’t have a lot of details about the Moto Z2 Force as well. With that said, we would like to know your thoughts on this. Are you waiting for Motorola to launch the Moto Z2 and the Z2 Force smartphone?
