Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 with Fingerprint Sensor Launched in the India for Rs.39,940

Samsung has finally Unveiled their flagship tablet ‘Galaxy Tab S2 (8-inches/9.7-inches)’ last week. The tablet was announced for the first time in July and now they have launched in India. It comes in two variants, one with 8-inches screen size and the other with 9.7-inches. The Galaxy Tab S2 9.7-inch variant with 32GB of internal storage was launched in India.

Both the variants are powered by an Exynos 5433 octa-core processor with four cores clocked at 1.9GHz and the other four at 1.3GHz. The tablet comes with Quad HD (1536×2048) Super AMOLED display; the 8-inch variant has a pixel density of 320ppi while bigger 9.7-inch variant has a pixel density of 264ppi.

There is 3GB of RAM and internal storage of 32GB/64GB. Along with a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 128GB. The Tab S2 features an 8MP rear camera and a 2.1MP front camera. They run on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop based TouchWiz UI. Surprisingly there is also a fingerprint sensor include on these tablets. The 9.7-inch variant has a Li-Ion battery of 5,870mAh capacity, and the 8-inch comes with a smaller 4,000mAh battery.

Connectivity on this tablets includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPA/A-GPS/GLONASS, and a microUSB 2.0 port. Both the variants measures just 5.6mm thick that makes them the world’s thinnest tablets ever.

The 9.7-inch variant measures 237.3 x 169 x 5.6 mm and weighs 389 grams while the 8-inch variant measures 198.6 x 134.8 x 5.6 mm and weighs 265 grams. Samsung introduced few new features, and the list includes mirroring your videos shoot with these tablets directly onto your Samsung Smart TVs, the tablet can also work as a remote controller for your Smart TVs.

The pre-orders for the Wi-Fi only variants has started already, and the 8-inch variant costs $400, the larger 9.7-inch variant costs $500. The company hasn’t mentioned any details about the 4G LTE supported tablet. According to the company, they are still in talks with the various carriers over the pricing.

There are also rumors that Samsung is working on a larger 18.4-inch tablet code-named ‘Tahoe’. The leaked dimensions of the device are 449.58 x 275.59 x 11.68 mm. The company might also include an S-Pen on this huge tablet. It will be available in the colors Gold, Black and White and is priced at Rs.39,940. There is no information about the pricing or the availability of the 8-inch variant.
