Samsung Galaxy S7 to Launch in Two Different Form Factors

Like any other upcoming flagship, we have seen lot many rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S7. According to the ET News, based out of Samsung‘s home country, it will be launching in two different form factors under the project called ‘Hero.’ There are earlier rumors about the Galaxy S7 suggesting the device to launch in two screen sizes. Based on today’s news, one variant of Galaxy S7 with 5.2-inch screen size comes with a flat display while the 5.7-inch variant comes with dual edge display.
Talking about the recently launched high-end devices from Samsung, the Galaxy Note 5 came with a normal flat display and the Galaxy S6 Edge+ came with dual edge display. In the same way, the company might also launch the Galaxy S7 in two different form factors. On the design front, the company hasn’t changed much when compared to earlier Galaxy S devices.
The ET News also reported the initial production of the upcoming flagship will be accounted for almost 5 Million units that will start by February next year, where 3.3 million units will be of Galaxy S7 and 1.6 million are of Galaxy S7 Edge. By the end of Q3 2015, Samsung had managed to sell almost 393 million units and in 2016 alone the company is targeting to sell over 400 million devices.
The Galaxy S7 comes with a fingerprint sensor that also authorizes the Samsung Pay; the company is also looking to capture 50% of market share by the next few years. The device will also be waterproof and includes DDR4 RAM for better multitasking. It is expected to run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based TouchWiz UI out-of-the-box.
Under the hood, based on the markets we can find either the in-house Exynos 8890 octa-core processor or the Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor. It features a USB Type-C port that is incorporated in the recently launched flagships like OnePlus 2, Huawei Nexus 6P, Lumia 950 & Lumia 950XL. The device features a 20MP rear camera and will be built into a metal body that gives much-needed sturdiness. While we expect to hear some information about the Galaxy S7 at the CES 2016, the device might be unveiled in the February 2016.
