Samsung Galaxy M40 Receiving New Update, Brings Camera and Face Recognition Improvements

The South Korean Giant – Samsung is rolling out a new update to its Galaxy M40 Smartphone which will bring few camera improvements along with June Security Patch. The Firmware version of the new update is M405FDDU1ASG2 and the size of it is 378.40 MB in size. The update is being rolled via OTA and since it is been pushed out gradually it might take some time before it hits your smartphone.

The update brings improvements to the camera section of the phone and also improves the face recognition performance. Furthermore, the update also gets a new blue light filter. According to the changelog, these were the improvements that were mentioned which will also be bringing Android June security patch. If you can’t wait for the update to hit your phone, you need to head to the setting of the handset and check it from the System update section. Make sure you have enough battery on the phone and do back up all the important data.

To remind you, the Samsung Galaxy M40 sports a 6.3-inch Infinity-O display with Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio giving an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and 91 percent screen-to-body ratio. Under the hood, there is an 11nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 Mobile Platform coupled with Kryo 460 CPU and Adreno 612 GPU. There is 6GB of RAM along with 128GB of storage which can be extended further via MicroSD card.

Talking about the camera, the device has a 32MP primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture, and a 5MP depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture. There is also a 16MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture size on the front and is powered with a 3500mAh battery with 15W adaptive fast charging technology. The device comes out of the box with the latest Android 9 Pie operating system with One UI on top.

The Galaxy M40 comes with Wideline L1 certification for streaming HD content on Netflix and other platforms like Amazon Prime Video.
