Samsung Galaxy J3 with Super AMOLED display Launched in China
Looks like Samsung would be completing the void in its J series (J5 and J7) of handsets as company just unveiled Galaxy J3 in China. The South Korean giant hinted that they would be launching the J3 phone soon when the device passed through TENNA and other important certifications committees in China. Now the device is official and is listed as J3(6) on brand’s website.
We have seen company launched new ON series of handsets (ON5 and ON7) in India earlier this month. And now this new device shows up in China on company’s website. The pricing and availability of the device are not yet revealed. Though, it does seem like it would be priced in budget range according to the specifications.
Coming to the hardware part, the device packs 5-inch Super AMOLED display with 720p display resolution, which is similar to the brand’s Tizen OS powered, the Z3. It packs 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, which is said to be expandable, but the limit was not specified. Measuring at 7.9mm it is not thin but is slim enough to be handled with one hand. It weighs around 138 grams.
Powered by a Quad-core chipset, the J3 should be able to handle your daily needs of multitasking, app usage and casual gaming. On the software front, the device runs on the TouchWiz UI, which is based on the latest Android Lollipop 5.1.1 version. Samsung highlights the Milk Music app and Smart Manager, which is the part of their software services.
The device would be running on 2600mAh capacity battery. It’s worth noticing that the device listed on Samsung’s China website is a China Telecom variant, which might have the different model number as the original J3 mode that passed through FCC certification had an SM-J3109 model number. And thus the name J3(6).
It’s known that companies name and launch their devices in different regions with different names. We think that’s the case with Galaxy J3. Or sometimes it’s different strategies like the J5 and J7 were launched in China as selfie phones while they were launched as gaming phones in India.
The Galaxy On5, which was launched recently and sports almost similar specs like Galaxy J3. The 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage, Quad-core CPU and 2600mAh battery. But the new J-series handset does have a better display and weigh much lesser. Although, the camera on the device does have the similar set of cameras, 8MP on rear and 5MP on front. This new handset might head to India very soon.
