LG Ray Mid-Range Smartphone with 5.5″ HD display Launched in Russia

LG has become very selective in launching new Smartphones these days, while the last major flagship device was the LG V10 that’s launched in a few countries today we have some news from Russia. The brand has debuted a new Mid-range phone dubbed as LG RAY, that comes with a 5.5″ Display with a 720p HD resolution. Clearly something that’s not going to offer a great viewing experience but for someone who wishes to buy a large display Smartphone.
The phone follows the same design language from LG where you have the volume rockers & the Power button on the back side that we had seen in all their recently launched devices. Along with this it offers you the secured knock code feature that is a unique way of securing your phone. The device is powered with a 3000 mAh capacity battery that can easily last you a day or may be more because its under powered & does not need a lot of juice. In terms of the hardware the phone comes with a Octa core 1.4 GHz MediaTek MT6592M chipset, along with 1GB of RAM & 16 GB of Internal Storage, that can be expanded upto 32 GB.
The availability of this phone is only in russia in the offline stores & its going to be available in Black & Gold color. In the Camera department it comes with a 13 MP rear camera & a 8 MP Front camera that supports Full HD 1080P Video recording.

The device is launched at a price of 14990 rubels that roughly translates to USD 232 (Rs 15,200) pointing that this clearly is a mid-range priced phone. A quick Comparison of the LG RAY with LG G4 Stylus, shows quite a few similarities between both the devices that could hint that this could be a similar variant of the phone except the major differences being the larger display & snapdragon processor. The G4 Stylus has not been a hit world wide when compared to the LG G4, but that’s not stopping LG from launching similar models in different markets.
