A couple of hours ago, Honor unveiled the Honor View 20 smartphone with an in-display camera and 48MP rear camera. Now, Samsung officially launched the Galaxy A8s smartphone at an event held in Beijing, China. The Galaxy A8s is the first ever smartphone to come with the Infinity-O display that was teased at the SDC 2018 event. While Samsung is yet to embrace the notch design, it is one of the first manufacturers to launch the smartphone with in-display camera.

The company also announced the Galaxy A8s FE version specially designed for women. Talking about the hole on the front, the one on the Galaxy A8s looks certainly bigger than the 4.8mm hole on the Honor View 20. On the front is the 6.4-inch display with Full HD+ resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. In terms of performance, the galaxy A8s comes powered by the 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 octa-core processor coupled with Kryo 360 CPU and Adreno 616 GPU.

The device will be available in 6GB and 8GB RAM variants with 128GB of internal storage. Coming to the cameras, the Galaxy A8s uses the same set of cameras as on the Galaxy A9 sans the ultra-wide angle lens. There is a 24MP primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture, a 10MP telephoto sensor, and a 5MP depth sensor. It comes with a premium-looking glossy finish body with Aluminum frame. The Galaxy A8s runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with Samsung Experience UI 9.5 laid on top.

On the rear, we can also spot the fingerprint sensor. As of now, the company hasn’t revealed the pricing of this device. However, the Galaxy A8s will be on sale starting December 21st in China. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details!
