Russia-based Yandex Launches its First Smartphone for $270

Yandex is a Russian internet company which has launched its first ever smartphone in the country. The device will be called as Yandex Phone and will be an entry level device which is priced at 17,990 rubles (approx $270). Yandex is also known for its other business like eCommerce, search engines and other online advertising. Recently we have seen Google launching its Google Pixel 3 Smartphone in Russia and this Yandex smartphone will be an answer to it.

Well, all of us know that Yandex has developed its own digital voice assistant called as Alice to take on Google Assistant and Yandex phone will be coming with the same voice Assistant with the default Yandex search engine. The device will be coming with a 5.65-inch display along with 2160 x 1080 pixels resolutions giving a pixel density of 427 PPi. Under the hood, there will be a Snapdragon 630 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM and Adreno 508 GPU.

On the storage front, it will be coming with a 64GB of onboard storage with an expandable storage of 128GB via a microSD card slot. It will be coming out of the box, with Android 8.1 Oreo operating system, with Yandex launcher but nothing is known about its further updates as of now. There will be a fingerprint sensor on the rear to enhance the security levels and there is also a 3050mAh battery to power the handset.

The company has provided a dual camera sensor on the rear with the main 16MP camera along with a 5MP secondary camera. There is also a 5MP camera on the front for selfies which can record 1080p videos at 30 fps. On the connectivity front, it supports 4G VoLTE and has Wi-Fi 802.11ac, GPS, A-GPS along with 3.5mm audio jack and Type-C USB port. Are you going to get this device?
