Samsung, after showcasing its first foldable smartphone — the Galaxy Fold back in February along with its other flagship Galaxy S10 series, the company had a hard time in releasing the Galaxy Fold smartphone to the consumers. That’s because this inward folding Galaxy Fold phone has had issues with the review units that the company has shared with the publications before the official launch. However, the company has reportedly confirmed that they have fixed the display issues and would be releasing some time soon though the new launch date hasn’t been announced yet.
That said, the Korean tech giant has already planned to make other foldable phones for the future, The Korea Herald had reported that Samsung is working on launching an out-folding smartphone — this would be the similar approach to what we have seen on the earlier launched Huawei’s Mate X this year. Apart from the outward and inward folding phones, Samsung appears to be having other wide range of foldable phones for the future as well.
What’s interesting is that, according to the report, Samsung has plans to unveil the new outward folding Galaxy phone prior to the launch date of Huawei’s Mate X, which is expected to be launched this September. Evidently, the mass-production of the major parts required for the new outward folding phone have already begun.
Meanwhile, Huawei has delayed its Mate X launch from Summer to September due to the possibilities of enabling the 5G network with this outward folding phone, the report suggests. On the other hand, Samsung is gearing to up to make all possible kinds of foldable phones for the future starting with inward facing, outward facing display phones and also recent reports have suggested Samsung’s plans of producing clamshell-based foldable phones as well.
It appears we might be forced to see all foldable phones in the future — thanks to tech giants like Samsung and Huawei who have foreseen that folding displays are the future of smartphones at least for some time now. Stay connected to PhoneRadar for more such interesting updates.
