Samsung Galaxy Fold Expected to Launch Next Month: Report

Published

on

The Galaxy Fold – the first foldable smartphone by the Korean maker Samsung has raised eyebrows in the tech industry during its unveiling back in February, this year. Soon after, the much-anticipated launch date was released, which was back in April. The reason we’re still not witnessing the Galaxy Folds in the market now is due to the Galaxy Fold review units sent earlier to media houses before the launch had seen unexpected issues, including the display breaking issues and debris getting stuck under the hinge and more, which made Samsung hold the launch date. The Korean manufacturer had later confirmed the delay in the launch in the US, China, and Hong Kong, respectively.

The primary cause of the display issues on the Galaxy Fold was reportedly due to the removable protective layer on the front, and few other issues were due to debris entered through hinge which holds and folds the display up front. Samsung has eventually withheld the launch and said that they would increase the completeness of the product that includes fixing the display issues (meaning the protective layer would be inserted into the device itself, instead of putting on the screen as a layer) and the reported hinge problems as well. The company had further stated that it would strengthen communications with consumers on how to use its first foldable Galaxy Fold before the launch.

Well, a new report suggests the Galaxy Fold launch is imminent, and we might soon hear the launch date by the company by this month through a media conference. According to the report, a high-ranking Samsung official has stated that the company would hold a press conference this month to announce the launch date of the Galaxy Fold and the device is said to be released to media in advance as well. Henceforth, we can expect the much anticipated Galaxy Fold device launch date by this month and hopefully the device would reach its consumers by next month.
