Officially Launched
Ringing Bell Freedom 251 Smartphone Launched at just Rs 251 / $3.6 in India – Specs

A year old Indian smartphone manufacturer, Ringing Bells has launched a smartphone priced at just Rs. 251 (approx $3.6). The device named as ‘Freedom 251‘ has been made official through their website but later in the evening there would be a launch event in New Delhi with government officials being a part of the mega event.
The device comes with a 4″ Display on a qHD IPS Panel and a 3.2MP AF Rear Camera along with a 0.3MP Front Camera. It also features an integrated touchless technology for a perfect Selfie. It would be offering a 3G connectivity with a support of 3G enabled SIM card. Under the hood, it has a 1.3GHz Quad-core processor, which should be good enough to offer daily operations. With a support of 8GB of internal storage, this can be expanded up to 32GB via SD card support.
It would be running on the latest Android Lollipop 5.1 version, mostly a stock Android UI. The brand would be pre-installing some resourceful apps dedicated to its Indian audience, such as Women Safety, Swachh Bharat, Fisherman, Farmer, Medical, WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube and couple other Google Apps. So, it won’t have much of a bloatware partnered to compensate the pricing of the device, which is a good thing. All this would be powered by a 1450mAh battery, which should be enough to power a 4-inch display and Quad-core processor, despite it may look quite less amount.
The device would be available to book starting tomorrow 6 AM IST. If the company really wants to empower the Indians who don’t have handsets, then how are they going to book it online? Wouldn’t you say it’s not a good sale strategy in perspective from a consumer who isn’t even aware of such handset? The product should be marketed offline and sold offline only so that it would go into right hands.
