Redmi K20 Receiving MIUI 10.3.6 Update in India along with June Security Patch – Details

Redmi K20 was launched in India last week along with its sibling Redmi K20 Pro and now the device is receiving a software update which also brings along Android Security Patch for the month of June and camera improvements. The MIUI 10.3.6 update is the first official update for the device following its launch in India and is being rolled out a stable channel via OTA update.
The latest update to the Redmi K20 will also fix a few issues that are associated with the notification behavior and the screen and the size of it is 471MB. Since it is an OTA update it will be rolled out in patches and it might take some time to reach your device in India depending on the location you are in. If you can’t wait for it, then you can update it manually from the setting of the Phone.
According to the companies changelog, the device will be getting Android security patch to June 2019 since it was launched with May Android security patch. The update also optimizes the camera beautification features along with few other fixes like the issues that caused the hands-free call duration to be displayed incorrectly when the Game Turbo settings were opened. The issue with other software which caused the screen to turn off in a few cases is been fixed.
To remind you the Redmi K20 smartphone was launched with a 6.39-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display and is powered by a Snapdragon 730 SoC coupled with Kryo 470 CPU and Adreno 618 GPU. There is 6GB as well 8GB of RAM options along with 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB of UFS 2.1 Flash Storage and it can be extended further via microSD card slot. The company has added a 4000mAh battery on the back with the support for 18W fast charging technology.
There is 48MP Sony IMX582 main camera on the back with f/2.7 aperture along with a 13MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.4 aperture and an 8MP telephoto sensor. There is a 20MP pop-up camera on the front with f/2.0 aperture. It comes out of the box with Android 9 Pie operating system with MIUI on top. The device was launched for Rs. 21,999 for the base 6GB + 64GB variant while the 6GB +128GB storage option is priced at Rs. 23,999. Have you received this update?
