Huawei to Rollout EMUI 9.1 Update to its P20 Lite, and few other Smartphones in India Starting this Week

Huawei has announced that it is going to roll out its EMUI 9.1 update for few of its smartphones in India starting this week. The smartphones that are included in the list are Huawei P20 Lite, Huawei Y9 (2019), Huawei Nova 3i, Huawei Mate 20 Pro, Huawei Nova 3, and the Huawei P30 Lite and this new update will bring many new features for the devices. Huawei will be rolling out the update in phases and the complete process should be finished by 7th of August.

The first phase of the update includes Huawei P20 Lite smartphone which will be getting the latest EMUI 9.1 update within this week. The other devices that are listed (Huawei P20 Lite, Huawei Y9 (2019), Huawei Nova 3i, Huawei Mate 20 Pro, Huawei Nova 3) will be receiving the update in the second phase. The Huawei P30 Lite along with the P20 Pro will be getting the update in the last phase. The company has said that the update for the phones that are mentioned above will be completed by August 7.

The eligible devices will be getting an OTA update and the owner will be getting a notification when the update is available for their smartphone. You can also check for the update manually from the setting of the device and then heading to the system updates section. Make sure the battery on the device is more than 60 percent when the installation starts and do back up your important data to be on the safe side.

According to the changeling, the latest EMUI 9.1 will be bringing new wallpapers and icons, improved performance, GPU Turbo 3.0, EROFS file system and more. The Extendable Read-Only File System (EROFS) is said to be increasing the random read speed on an average of 20 percent and up to 200 percent, and it should be saving about 2GB of system storage, which also should be making the phone faster than before. It is said to be helping while launching a large application faster and the start-up speed will be faster as well.

The latest update will bring new features and effects to Huawei’s Vlog that will make it easy for editing and sharing. Highlight videos are automatically edited with files and effects and the user can customize them by adding speeds effects and background music. New GPU Turbo 3.0 will be cutting down on the SoC power consumption by 10 percent and also optimizes system performance.

Bring faster touch response, reduces frame drops, lower energy consumption which will result in a higher average frame rate when compared to when the feature is switched off. The GPU Turbo 3.0 supports many popular Android game titles like Fortnite, Knives Out, Battle Bay, Crazy Taxi, Real Racing 3 and few more. There is a new AR measure application which will help in measuring volume, length and total area.

There is a new feature called dual-view, which will allow the users to capture videos by using different cameras of the phone that allows the users to shoot a video from different angles. Furthermore, the uses will be able to record a video in wide-angle as well as close-up simultaneously.
