The screenshot feature is the same and easy working with the MIUI interface as it is on any Android-powered smartphone. The volume and the power buttons are the trigger buttons, as you need to press them together to take a screenshots, which is saved automatically in the internal storage of the device, and can be viewed instantly from the notification panel. Or you can open the screen that you want to take a screenshot, and then go to the toggle options in the notification panel, where you will find the screenshot option as well.
It is a shortcut for navigating from home screens. For this shortcut, you activate the lite mode, and it will save your time in navigation. Go to the settings app, select Lite mode and tap on the Lite mode to turn it on. Visually, the icons and text will be larger in size than the usual as the purpose here is to give you direct access to many things at a time.
Sometimes your mobile screen gets loaded with unnecessary apps and it also gets confusing too, as you have to search a lot to find a particular app. So, if you are looking on how you can minimize that load on your handset, and delete all the unwanted and unused apps, then you are at right place. It is fairly easy to free up a lot of space in your handset. Just hold on to the app and drag it to up to the delete icon, and you will be done. Same step to be followed to delete the other apps on your Redmi 1S.
You can collect all the contacts and notes from your friends at one place. Select the contact and place all the notes under that contact. You can do it easily using dial pad-based note taking available in the MIUI Interface.

By default, Xiaomi Redmi 1S doesn’t allow you to download the big apps from Google Play Store using the data connection. You have to change the permission to the unlimited data, in the settings section of the Downloads app.
It is fairly easy to do that, first you need to go to settings area, then tap on the About phone section, which will open a new list of options, in that list you need to repeatedly tap on the Android version , until you see something displayed that says you are now a developer. And if you already are, it will display, “No need, you are already a developer.” Now you need to go back in the settings section and tap on the developer options, there you will find the USB debugging option. To enable it, you have to check the box in front of the option, and you are done.
The most interesting thing about the MIUI is that you get try dozens of themes that are designed to personalize and give your Mi phone a great look inside. For that, Xiaomi has its own Themes store, which provides the great collection of themes for its budget-friendly Redmi 1S device. Let us guide you on how you can install and delete the MIUI themes whenever you want. First, you need to go to the Themes store, and select which app you want to install, then download that theme (remember you need to sign into your account, in order to download the theme). Some themes are free, while some will cost you credits, which can be earned if you are actively participating on the MIUI forum.
After, downloading the theme, you have to apply it, and you are ready to go. Though, after using it sometimes, you didn’t like the theme, then, you can always go back to the default theme. For that, you need to go the Theme store, and then go to the local section, there you will find the default theme, open it and apply. So, now you know how to install, as well as delete the themes on your device.
This rooting process is very easy on most of the Android smartphones, and rooting on the Redmi 1S is not much unique, but a little bit different. This is achieved by flashing a zip file via recovery so that the su binary file gets installed, proper permissions are set and the MIUI stable version number NN.0 is appended to NN.0.1 so that the firmware behaves like a developer version and unlocks the stock root. Root can then be turned on like for developer versions with Security > Permission > Root permission.
This approach does NOT rely on a program like VRoot.exe running on your Windows computer (from which you never can be sure what else it could be doing); only one zip file is installed via the built-in recovery of Redmi 1S. The detailed step-by-step guide can be found on the MIUI Forum.
If you are looking for the stable ROMs, then Xiaomi has provided the full ROM pack, as well as flashing guide on their MIUI website. Currently, there are three Redmi 1S models available in different regions, one is for the China, and other two are for particular and global countries. During the launch event, Hong Feng, the Co-founder and VP of Xiaomi, said that the Xiaomi Mi 3 and Mi 4 will be the first to receive MIUI 6 beta testing. In October, all owners of Mi 3 and Mi 4 will be upgraded to the final version of MIUI 6. And Xiaomi Mi 2/2S/2A, Redmi 1/1S and Redmi Note will receive beta testing by the end of this year. So, it is clear that Redmi 1S users would have to wait a lot to experience the MIUI 6 on their devices.
