Rebranded Realme X to Launch as OPPO K3 on May 23rd

After launching the flagship OPPO Reno series, the company is now coming up with new mid-range smartphones. The company will be launching the new OPPO K3 smartphone on May 23rd in China. OPPO also revealed key specifications of the upcoming K-series smartphone. As rumors suggested, the OPPO K3 will be coming with the pop-up camera and a notch-less display. It is basically the same Realme X but comes with OPPO branding.

The listing on the OPPO’s official website also confirmed the device to sport 6.5-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and DC dimming feature. Since the display has no notch or bezels, it offers a whopping 91.1% screen-to-body ratio. The pop-up camera on the top features a 16MP sensor and it can extend in just 0.74 seconds. As seen on the Realme X, the OPPO K3 also comes powered by the 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 Mobile Platform coupled with Kryo 360 CPU and Adreno 616 GPU.

It comes with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS2.1 flash storage. The device should be running on the latest ColorOS 6.0 based on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box. It comes with proprietary software features like Game Boost 2.0, Frame Boost, Touch Boost, and Link Boost. Finally, the OPPO K3 is also confirmed to feature an in-display fingerprint scanner on the front. Just like the Realme X, the OPPO K3 also comes with a USB Type-C port.

The USB Type-C port along with 3.5mm audio jack, primary microphone, and a loudspeaker are placed on the bottom edge. On the rear, the Realme X came with a 48MP primary camera with f/1.7 aperture and a 5MP depth sensor. We also expect the upcoming OPPO K3 to offer the same dual camera setup. It will also support VOOC 3.0 flash charge technology that offers 5V/4A (20W) power output. The Realme X comes with up to 8GB RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage.

The pricing begins from CNY 1499 (approx USD 220 / INR 15,000) and goes all the way up to CNY 1899 for the Onion and Garlic editions of the Realme X Naoto Fukasawa collection. While the Realme X is confirmed to launch in the Indian market, we also expect OPPO brings the OPPO K3 to India. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details about the upcoming OPPO K3 smartphone.
