We have covered about a few new smartphone brands who came up with unique designed smartphones offering powerful specifications. Now, a new brand called Brandeis joins the list and it is already selling its first smartphone called Prometheus. The device is priced at $800, but it is now available at a discounted price of just $400 for the first 1000 customers. Considering the top notch specs, the Prometheus smartphone at $400 is a steal deal, but we don’t recommend you to purchase as there is not much information available about the company. Till date, the company is yet to show the prototype of this uniquely designed smartphone.

Talking the device, it comes with an edge screen display featuring unorthodox bezels on the top and bottom. According to the device listing, the Prometheus sports a 6-inch Super AMOLED display offering Quad HD resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio. There is also a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top of the so-called freedom display. It is powered by the 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with Adreno 540 GPU. The device also packs 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. The physical home button placed on the front also comes with an integrated fingerprint sensor.

Talking about the cameras, the device sports 12MP dual camera setup on the rear with octa-ring LED flash. They offer f/1.7 aperture, PDAF, OIS, and laser autofocus. For selfies, the company is offering the same 12MP dual cameras on the front of the device. The device is also IP68 certified making it both water and dust resistant. It also features Piezoelectric speaker technology which was first used in the Xiaomi’s Mi MIX bezel-less smartphone. Unlike the other flagship device, the Prometheus features the 3.5mm audio port. It measures 155.8 x 76 x 7.5 mm and weighs 180 grams.

Even the device is said to run on the yet to be announced Android 8 (a.k.a Android O). It is backed by a 3,500mAh non-removable battery that also supports Quick Charge 4 fast charging technology. It also offers dual SIM dual standby using the hybrid SIM slot. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac with MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS, and USB Type-C port. While these specifications look so good, we hope the device actually hits the market. It is mentioned to be available only in Matte Black color option. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details about this device.
