Archos Diamond Alpha, Diamond Gamma, Sense 55s & Sense 50x Smartphones Launched in Europe

Archos, the French smartphone brand has four new Android-powered smartphones. The Diamond Alpha and Diamond Gamma are the two new devices in the Diamond series. These two devices are actually the rebranded Nubia M2 and M2 Lite smartphones that are launched earlier this year in China. Interestingly, Nubia also sells its own-branded smartphones in the European market. The Sense 55s & Sense 50x are other two new devices that are unveiled this week. All the four Archos devices will be available across Europe from early next month.
Archos Diamond Alpha – EUR 299
The Diamond Alpha comes with a unibody metal design and packs high-end specifications. It comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Under the hood is the 64-bit Snapdragon 625 MSM8953 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz and comes coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. It includes 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. On the rear are the 13MP RGB sensor and 13MP Monochrome sensor protected with Sapphire glass lens. There is also a 16MP sensor on the front for selfies with f/2.0 aperture and 80-degree wide angle. The physical home button beneath the display of theDiamond Alpha comes with an integrated fingerprint sensor. It is backed by a 3,630mAh non-removable battery and offers dual SIM dual standby support.
Archos Diamond Gamma – EUR 199
Unlike the Diamond Alpha, the Diamond Gamma comes with a single rear camera and also slightly less powerful specifications. It sports a 5.5-inch IPS display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution and includes the Snapdragon 435 octa-core processor. It comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage along with a MicroSD card slot. The Diamond Gamma sports a 13MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and dual tone LED flash. For selfies, there is a whopping 16MP front camera. The device is backed by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery with 5V/2A (10W) fast charging support. It also supports dual SIM dual standby and offers basic connectivity features like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and MicroUSB 2.0 port. The device measures 155.73 x 76.7 x 7.5 mm and weighs 164 grams.
Archos Sense 55s – EUR 249
Coming to the Sense series, the new Sense 55s looks similar to the Mi MIX with its three-sided bezel-less display. While the Sense 55s features basic specifications and skips the ceramic body, it sports dual camera setup on the rear. The 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display offers 78% screen-to-body ratio. It packs an unknown quad-core processor along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. There is also a MicroSD card slot for further expansion of storage on this device. In the camera department, there are dual 8MP sensors on the rear with LED flash and another 8MP sensor on the front for selfies. There is also a circular fingerprint sensor placed on the rear. It runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat and is backed by a 3,000mAh battery.
Archos Sense 50x – EUR 169
The Archos Sense 50x comes with a rugged body and IP68 certifications making it withstand the scratches, dust, drops and water submersion. It sports a 5-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) and comes protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood is the Mediatek MT6737T quad-core clocked at 1.5 GHz. There is 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. The 3,500mAh battery on the Sense 50x should give a day-long battery life. It also runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and sports 8MP and 3MP cameras on the rear and front of the device. However, there are no physical navigation buttons as seen on the premium rugged devices; instead, the device comes with the capacitive buttons. The rugged body also makes the 5-inch Sense 50x to look and bulky when compared to the smartphones with the similar screen size.
