In the past few months, we have seen quite a few Android smartphones from Panasonic in India. Today, the company came up with yet another Eluga smartphone called Panasonic Eluga A4. It is the successor to the Eluga A3 and A3 Pro launched in August this year. The new Eluga A4 is priced at Rs. 12,490 and will be sold through authorized retail stores across the country. Since the device is limited to the offline market, we can’t compare the Eluga A4 with the likes of Redmi Note 4 or Moto G5S.
The USP of the device is its huge 5,000mAh battery which should give two-days of mixed usage. Even the Panasonic Eluga Ray 700 launched earlier this year is also packed with the same 5,000mAh battery. The Eluga Ray 700 is sold exclusively through Flipkart and offers better hardware even at a slightly lower price point. Talking about the other specifications, the Eluga A4 offers a 5.2-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display with a 2.5D curved glass laid on the top.
It is powered by a 1.25GHz MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor coupled with Mali-T720 MP2 GPU and 3GB of RAM. There is also 32GB of onboard storage that can be expandable up to 128GB using a MicroSD card. In terms of optics, there is a 13MP camera on the rear with LED flash and a 5MP camera on the front for selfies and video calls. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, USB OTG, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port.
The Eluga A4 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and comes with several bloatware apps. There is also an in-house ARBO personal assistant, which is already available on the Eluga Ray devices. On the rear of the device, we can also spot the circular fingerprint sensor. The power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge, while the SIM card slot is on the left edge. The Panasonic Eluga A4 will be available in Champagne Gold, Mocha Gold, and Marine Blue color options.
