Gionee M7 Power with 6″ HD+ Display & 5000mAh Battery Launched in India for Rs. 16,999

Earlier this week, Gionee launched the Gionee M7 & Big Gold Steel 2 smartphones in China with 18:9 displays. Now the company has announced the Big Gold Steel 2 as Gionee M7 Power for the global markets. The Gionee M7 Power is the successor to last year’s M6 Power. Compared to the 6,020mAh battery on the M6 Power, the new M7 Power features a slightly smaller 5,000mAh battery. The smartphone sports a metal body but comes with a glossy finish. While the Gold colored variant comes with the laser-cut finish, the Black and Dark Blue colors will be feature diamond-cut finish.

Gionee M7 Power with 5000mAh Battery Launched in Thailand

On the front is a 6-inch HD+ (1440 × 720 pixels) FullView display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D curved glass on the top. Just like any other smartphone with 18:9 display, the Gionee M7 Power also offers 85% screen-to-body ratio. Under the hood is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz and comes coupled with Adreno 505 GPU. It packs 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. There is also MicroSD card slot for expanding the storage up to 256GB. It also supports dual SIM dual standby using the hybrid SIM slot.

The M7 Power features on-screen navigation buttons and the fingerprint sensor is now placed on the rear. The fingerprint sensor can be also used a shutter button while in the camera app. It runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box with the highly customized Amigo 5.0 OS on the top. In terms of optics, the Gionee M7 Power sports a 13MP shooter on the rear with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, and LED flash. For selfies, there is an 8MP camera on the front. The 5,000mAh non-removable battery on this device should easily last more than a day of heavy usage.

On the connectivity front, the M7 Power includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, and GPS. The smartphone measures 156.3 × 75.6 × 8.6 mm and weighs 199 grams. It will first go on sale in Thailand and is priced at THB 9,990 (approx USD 300 / INR 19,500). On the other hand, the high-end Gionee M7 comes with 6.01-inch Full HD+ (2160 × 1080 pixels) FullView AMOLED display and is powered by Helio P30 processor. It includes 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.  There is a 16MP + 8MP dual camera setup on the rear and an 8MP selfie camera on the front.

Gionee to Launch M7 Power in India Next Week

Gionee today confirmed to launch the Gionee M7 Power smartphone in India on November 15th. Back in September, the company launched the Big Gold Steel 2 in China and later the same device was launched as M7 Power in Thailand. Now almost two months after its debut, the Gionee M7 Power will be landing here in India. The device is expected to be priced at Rs. 19,999 and it will be company’s first smartphone to launch in India with an 18:9 display.

As seen with the other offline focused brands, Gionee might also sell the M7 Power via both offline and online stores. As of now, there is no information about the availability of the Gionee M7 smartphone in the Indian market. Compared to the M7 Power, the Gionee M7 comes with a slightly smaller battery. However, it comes with a powerful processor and offers dual rear cameras.

As teased earlier, Gionee has officially launched the M7 Power smartphone in India. Before launching in India, the same device was made available in a few other Asian markets. Just like the earlier launched M-series smartphones, the new Gionee M7 Power also comes backed by a massive battery. As of now, there is no information about the availability of the Gionee M7 smartphone here in India. The Gionee M7 was launched alongside the M7 Power in China. Talking about the specifications of the Gionee M7 Power, it comes with a 6-inch FullView display with HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels) and 18:9 aspect ratio.

It packs Snapdragon 435 SoC, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of expandable storage. With the 5,000mAh battery, the device measures 8.6mm thick and weighs 199 grams. It will be available in Black and Dark Blue colors with laser-drilled finish and in Gold color with laser-engraved finish. The Gionee M7 Power will be costing Rs. 16,999 in India and will be sold via Amazon.in and retail stores. It is already available to pre-book and the sales will begin from November 24th. The company is also offering one-time screen replacement offer with 6 months validity for the pre-booked devices.
